Bees are important for both the environment and agriculture. Unfortunately, bees are in trouble.

To bring attention to the decline in bees throughout North America and to improve pollination within our community, mason bee boxes have been installed at Rotary ParkDiefenbaker Park, Fred Gingell Park, and the East Pointe Park Reserve (located off of Admiral Boulevard at River Road in Ladner).

How You Can Help

Make your garden bee-friendly by planting flowers, fruits and vegetables that will flower from spring to summer. This will ensure that bees of all varieties have a steady food supply throughout the season. Avoid the application of pesticides and herbicides that may kill bees.
