Annieville Lions Park Playground Renewal Program

Annieville Lions Park is located at 9150 112 Street in North Delta. It is a multi-use park enjoyed by various user groups and those seeking passive recreation areas.  The park includes 2 baseball diamonds, tennis courts, water park and 2 washroom buildings, picnic shelter and a natural playground located in a forested area.

Updates

At the February 11, 2019 Regular Meeting, Council approved the Playground Renewal Program. This program provides $250,000 annually for playground renewal in order to update Delta’s.

Overview

The Playground Renewal Program will address aging playgrounds throughout Delta.  On an annual basis, $250,000 has been allotted for this program.  In 2019 the remaining aged play features at Annieville Lions Park will be replaced with additional natural play elements.. The entire playground at Kensington Park will also be replaced with a variety of natural and man-made features.

Delta is seeking community input as to which features may be installed at each park.  An on line survey and hard copy input form at Delta’s major recreation centres will provide information to Delta staff as to the desires of the community.  It is anticipated that the construction for the playground replacements will be complete by the end of 2019.

Consultation Phases

  1. Annieville Lions Elementary School – Delta staff will hold an open house at the school for the students to provide their input on play elements for the final phase of the renewal project.
  2. On Line Survey – an online input form will gather information on which elements are supported by the community. The survey has closed.
  3. Input Form – a display will be set up at the North Delta Recreation Centre and Sungod Recreation with a digital input form available to gather information on which elements are supported by the community.
