At the May 25, 2015 Regular Meeting, Council approved an amendment to Delta’s Highway Bylaw No. 6922, 2011 to remove Ladner Trunk Road as a truck route between Highway 17A and 72 Street.

This change has been the final step in the removal of this section of Ladner Trunk Road as a truck route given that improvements have been made to Highway 99 with the new off-ramp at 80 Street and improved access and egress at the Matthews Interchange to Highway 99.

The following routes have been added as truck routes to maintain road network connectivity and goods movement and access to Boundary Bay Airport and the adjacent Industrial Area:

  • 72 Street (from Ladner Trunk Road to Churchill Street)
  • Churchill Street (from 72 Street to 80 Street)
  • 80 Street (from Ladner Trunk Road to Churchill Street)

Exceptions are given to Heavy Trucks (> 10,000 GVW) transporting agricultural products between farms located in Delta and trips to local destinations following the shortest route as noted in section 5.3 of the Highways Bylaw.

Delta Police are actively enforcing these truck route changes. Delta Truck Routes Map reflects these changes.  Regulatory signage changes have been undertaken on Ladner Trunk Road, Highway 17A and Highway 99.
