Contract Award: Boundary Bay Fire Hall – Site Preload


Council awarded a contract to Key-West Ashpalt (333) Ltd. for site preload for the Boundary Bay Fire Hall. The Fire Hall is part of the 2017 Financial Plan, which was approved at the February 27, 2017 Regular Meeting. Key-West Asphalt (333) Ltd. was the lowest of three bids submitted to Tender 17-054, and fully meets the requirements of the project. The Boundary Bay Fire Hall Project has been included in the five-year financial plan, with sufficient funds allocated for this element of work. View the staff report.

Contract Award: Mackie Park Turf Replacement Civil Works


Council awarded a contract to Cedar Crest Lands (BC) Ltd. to undertake the civil works associated with the replacement of the existing synthetic turf system for Mackie Park. Initially constructed in 2002, the synthetic turf playing field has reached the end of its service life. Cedar Crest Lands (BC) Ltd. was the lowest of three bids submitted to Tender 17-051, and is fully compliant with the terms and conditions of the project. The contract includes additional goal storage areas on the playing surface, new covered players’ benches, and replacement spectator seating area with a covered roof structure. The turf replacement program is included in the 2017 Financial Plan. View the staff report. 

Contract Award: Mackie Park Synthetic Turf Replacement


Council awarded a contract to Astro Turf West Distributors Ltd. to replace the exisiting synthetic turf surfacing system at Mackie Park. Funding for the first stage of this replacement program is included in the 2017 Financial Plan. Of the three proposals posted on BC Bid for Tender 17-026, Astro Turf West Distributors Ltd. was chosen based on proponent capability and experience, measure of proposed products and services against specified criteria, and price. The project includes the replacement of the existing synthetic turf surfacing system and supply of additional field maintenance equipment required to meet warranty conditions for a proposed synthetic turf.
