Council received a presentation from the Delta Police Department regarding elder abuse.

2017 Climate Action Report

Council received a presentation from the Manager of Climate Action & Environment regarding Delta’s 2017 climate action progress. The presentation and accompanying report detailed Delta’s corporate greenhouse gas reductions and achievement of carbon neutrality. View the staff report.   

2018 Delta Trades & Technical Career Fair

Council received a summary regarding the 2018 Delta Trades and Technical Career Fair, which was held at Sungod Recreation Centre on May 3. This free annual event provides an opportunity for students and members of the public to learn about the various trades and technical opportunities available. This was the sixth year of the event, which included 44 exhibitors and over 2,600 participants. Council also approved the establishment of trade related scholarships for 2019. Freshet Update

Council received a presentation from the Acting Director of Engineering regarding the Spring Freshet/Irrigation Water Supply Update. The last week of April saw higher than normal temperatures, resulting in rapid snow melt in low to mid elevation regions. The early freshet is causing the Fraser River to run at high flow rates for this time of year. River flow is projected to increase over the next two weeks and an elevated flood risk will likely be present through mid-June. View the staff report.
