G. MOTIONS ON NOTICE

(G.01) Peter German Report Regarding Casino Operations

Councillor Kanakos provided the following Notice of Motion at the July 30, 2018 Regular Meeting for consideration at the August 13, 2018 Regular Meeting:

“THAT due to the significant implications for public safety raised by the Peter German report, and due to the fact that Delta Council did not have a copy of the Peter German report at the time of the Third Reading of the Bylaw;

THAT the City of Delta write the Attorney General, the Minister responsible for gaming in British Columbia, in accordance with the powers outlined in Section 6 of the BC Gaming Control Act; and require that the British Columbia Lottery Corporation put a hold on future casinos until the recommendations of the Peter German report have been implemented; and until it is evident that public confidence and public safety have been restored regarding casino operations in British Columbia.”
