Live Streaming of the Question and Answer Period

Beginning prior to tonight’s Regular Meeting of Council, the Question and Answer Period will now be live streamed on the City of Delta’s website. The Question and Answer period will also be published and archived on the City’s website for later viewing.

The Question and Answer Period is held for the 15 minutes prior to the start of the evening session (at approx. 6:45 pm) of a Regular Meeting of Council and is an opportunity for the public to address Mayor and Council on items directly related to a matter featured on the evening’s Regular Meeting Agenda.

Citizens are also encouraged to email Mayor and Council at Mayor-Council@delta.ca or send a letter to the attention of Mayor and Council. Correspondence addressed to Mayor and Council is typically added to a Council Meeting agenda. The deadline for inclusion of written or email correspondence on a Council agenda is Tuesday noon, nine (9) business days prior to the Council Meeting. The deadline for correspondence that refers to an item on an upcoming Council Meeting Agenda is 10 am on the day of the Council Meeting.

Citizens wishing to speak at a Question and Answer Period must register to do so. Speaker registration is available outside the Council Chamber at City Hall (or other venues where the Regular Meeting is scheduled to be held) from 6:00 to 6:30 pm on the day of the Regular Meeting. Speakers will be advised that their participation in the Question and Answer Period, including their name and address, is being videotaped for live streaming purposes and later publication and archiving on the City’s website, in accordance with the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.
