Jul 18, 2019
The City of Delta and Alpha Aviation wish to advise the public of temporary road and dike closures in Delta, and anticipated heavy traffic volumes in the Ladner and east Ladner area for the Boundary Bay Airshow on Saturday July 20, 2019.
Road & Dike Closure, from 11am to 5pm July 19 (practice day) and July 20:
- 72 Street CLOSED from Churchill Street to 36 Avenue and CLOSED southbound from Ladner Trunk Road to Churchill Street.
- Cyclists will be unable to access the Airshow via 72 Street from the dike during these times. Detour option: travel along Ladner Trunk Road and southbound on 72 Street to Churchill Street. Local traffic permitted. To access businesses located along 72 Street, please take 64 Street to 36 Avenue and traffic personnel will direct you.
To ensure the safety of travelers, road and traffic safety personnel will be on hand to direct traffic flows to and from Boundary Bay Airport. Motorists should expect delays and additional congestion to facilitate the flow of traffic to and from Boundary Bay Airport on Saturday, July 20. There will also be an increase in foot traffic and cyclists around Boundary Bay Airport. Additional localized road closures may be implemented in the surrounding Boundary Bay Airport area as necessary on July 20, 2019.
