This late-summer celebration of the season has become a local tradition, with residents parading through the intimate Sunstone Park with lanterns in tow. With countless activities, beautiful decorations, delicious food trucks, and phenomenal entertainment, the Luminary Festival is a truly unique and inspiring event that captures the imagination of children and adults alike.

Date: Saturday, September 7
Time: 6-10pm
Location: Sunstone Park

Contest

Make sure you dress in your brightest and best costume during the festival! The more flamboyant and shiny, the better!

This year, Delta will be holding contests for the best costume and best lantern! Simply take a picture and post it on social media with #illuminatedelta to be entered in to win one of two 6-month Delta Parks, Recreation & Culture drop-in facility passes!

Winners to be selected on September 10.

Lanterns

One of the best parts of the Luminary Festival is the wide range of diverse and creative lanterns. We encourage all attendees to get crafty and make their own personalized lantern.

Not sure how to make a lantern? Get some ideas over at Delta.ca/LuminaryFestival!

The use of open flames in lanterns is prohibited. Please use glow sticks, solar or battery-powered lights.

Shuttle Services

Remember, there is no on-site parking for Sunstone Park during the Luminary Festival. Fortunately, Delta will be offering a free shuttle service from North Delta Recreation Centre to get you to and from the event.

We look forward to seeing you there!
