Meet Mandarin and Pomelo, two bonded brothers who came to us from one of our feral cat TNR projects in Delta, as part of our ‘Citrus’ kitten litter! Mandarin is the orange tabby and Pomelo is the buff tabby, who is slightly more confident of the two.
Since they were born outside to a feral mom, these two still need a bit of time to come around fully, but they have been doing wonderfully day by day! We suspect with gentle, cat- experienced owners, they’ll bond closely with their family in no time at all. Pomelo has already decided he loves affection and has turned into quite the purr machine once he is comfortable. Mandarin is becoming more like his brother daily and is also learning how much he loves affection! Just like any other pair of kitten, these two are full of beans and LOVE to play with all kinds of toys!
Currently we are looking for a foster-to-adopt home for our boys, as they are recovering from an upper respiratory infection. We don’t expect they’ll be chronically sick, but ensuring they are fed a good quality diet, and are up to date on yearly vet visits and vaccines will be important. Mandarin and Pomelo would be best suited to a home without other cats to avoid getting any others sick. Due to their timid nature, they aren’t interested in living with dogs or children at this time and will need to be kept indoors only.
