Free Sustainable Workshops are back! Delta residents can register for free gardening and green living workshops to help create a more sustainable community. Our local instructors will teach you how to grow your own food, care for your garden, harvest honey, and more! Workshops are held in North Delta and South Delta starting in the spring. Workshops are free, but registration is required.

Healthy Soil For A Great Garden - test Your Soil | Suitable for folks who have a gardening space, as well as for anyone who would like to start gardening, you'll learn how to build your soil for a healthy, vibrant veggie garden. Find out how vigorous your soil is and what to add to it to improve its' vitality! If you have a garden, you're invited to bring a CLEAR 1 liter container (with a lid) at least half full of your garden soil, for some simple tests to learn how to improve it with natural fertilizers, soil amendments, and gardening techniques. Gardening for Pollinators and Other Wildlife | Did you know that your garden can become a life-supporting ecosystem that can help heal the harms of climate change? Grow Less Grass | Lawns are a part of nearly every suburban garden. In this workshop, we’ll explore what lawns are good for and some reasons why we may want to grow less of them. Balcony, Container, and Small Space Gardening | Want to grow food but don't have much room? In this course Rhiannon Johnson will cover the techniques and challenges specific to gardening in small spaces, both indoors and outdoors.
