UPDATE 01/16/2024: BC Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure's Highway 17A Overpass Repairs

Updated January 24, 2024:

The Provincial Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure has begun permanent repairs on the Highway 17A Overpass from the damage sustained in July 2023. Visit the Ministry's website here for more information.

The Highway 17A Overpass southbound will remain open during the day, with nightly closures from 7:00pm to 5:00am 7 days a week.

There will weekend closures of southbound lanes:

January 12-14, 2024

  • Highway 17A southbound closed Friday January 12 at 7 pm to Sunday January 14 at 5 pm
  • Highway 99 southbound closed Friday January 12 at 10 pm to January 14 at 5 pm 
  • Highway 17A northbound remains open

The scheduled closure for January 19-21 has been cancelled as repair work for that closure has been completed.

There will also be a full closure of the southbound lanes for Highway 17A Overpass:

February 2-3, 2024

  • Highway 17A southbound will be fully closed Friday February 2 at 7 pm to Saturday January 27 at 2 pm
  • Highway 99 remains open
  • Highway 17A northbound remains open

Highway 17A southbound closures will require drivers to take alternate routes. For a list of detour routes and maps, and more information about the closures, please visit Ministry's website here.
