Delta's climate action has earned various awards and recognition:

  • 2015 Achievement of Carbon Neutrality
    Climate Action Recognition Program
    Delta has been awarded Level 3 recognition "Achievement of Carbon Neutrality," as part of Provincial-UBCM Green Communities Committee's Climate Action Recognition Program
  • 2015 Recognition as Champion Supporter
    Delta was recognized by the Partnership for Water Sustainability in BC for helping advance the vision for water sustainability through implementation of green infrastructure policies and practices.
  • 2014 Achievement of Carbon Neutrality

  • 2014 Partners for Climate Protection
    In 2014, Delta completed Milestones 2 and 3 of the Partners for Climate Protection Community program.
  • 2013 Achievement of Carbon Neutrality

  • 2013 Partners for Climate Protection
    In 2013, Delta completed Milestone 5 of the Partners for Climate Protection program. Delta is the fourth community in B.C. and the tenth community in Canada to reach this achievement.
  • 2012 Partners for Climate Protection
    In 2012, Delta completed Milestone 4 of the Partners for Climate Protection program.
  • 2010 Solar Communities
    In 2010, the Corporation of Delta became a SolarBC Solar Community.
  •  2009 Energy and Climate Action Award
    The Corporation of Delta was recognized by the Community Energy Association at the 2009 Energy  and Climate Action Awards with an honourable mention in the category of Corporation Operations for  its "comprehensive, progressive and dynamic climate action strategy."
  • 2009 E3 Gold Level Accreditation
    In 2009, the Corporation of Delta was awarded Gold level accreditation as part of the Fraser Basin Council's E3 Fleet Program. Delta and the City of Vancouver were the first cities in Canada to receive Gold level accreditation.
  • 2008 BC Hydro Leadership Award
    In 2008, Delta staff were recognized by BC Hydro for excellence in work place energy conservation.
  • 2007 BC Hydro Turn It Off Challenge
    Delta tied for first place with the City of Victoria in the BC Hydro Turn It Off Challenge, a competition amongst municipalities for workplace conservation.
