
The following are project updates regarding the construction works happening on 56 Street in Tsawwassen. We thank you for your patience as we continue to work on these important community projects.
56 Street Sanitary Sewer Upgrades
The City of Delta is installing a new sanitary main along 56 Street from 16 Avenue to View Crescent, continuing along View Crescent, and then back along 56 Street from View Crescent to 12 Avenue. Construction has been underway since February 2025, with an estimated completion by summer 2025.
The new sewer main will replace an aging sanitary main that has reached the end of its service life, designed to accommodate future growth in Tsawwassen and improve the community’s long-term infrastructure.
Construction is ongoing along View Crescent during regular working hours. In an effort to expedite the construction schedule, a second construction crew will begin nighttime works along 56 Street between View Crescent and 12 Avenue starting Monday, July 28. Please follow the construction signs.
Work will take place during following hours:
- 7:00 am to 7:00 pm – Monday to Saturday – View Crescent
- 8:00 pm to 5:00 am – Monday to Friday – 56 Street, between View Crescent and 12 Avenue

56 Street Multi-Use Pathway (6 Avenue to Winskill Park)
Construction for the 56 Street Multi-Use Pathway will begin in July 2025 with an anticipated completion by fall 2025. The pathway will be located along 56 Street between 6 Avenue and Winskill Park.
The work will include a new multi-use pathway, street-lighting upgrades, and improvements to the crosswalks at 6 Avenue and 8A Avenue.
During working hours, the northbound traffic on 56 Street between 6 Avenue and 8A Avenue will be reduced to a single-lane from 7:00 am – 7:00 pm.
