As part of Delta’s ongoing commitment to inclusion and celebration of Pride, the City is proud to launch Show Your Pride—a new public art initiative inviting community members to reflect on and express what inclusion and acceptance mean to them this summer.
Developed in partnership with local artist Chloe Groth, this interactive Pride-themed project features a large banner that incorporates symbols of Delta alongside the message: “You Belong Here.” Community members of all ages are encouraged to add to the banner throughout the summer by colouring, drawing, or writing their own messages and reflections on diversity and inclusion.
“This project is about more than just art—it’s about creating space for connection and conversation in our community,” said Mayor George V. Harvie. “We are proud to support initiatives that promote belonging and allyship. Everyone deserves to feel safe, seen, and valued in their community.”
The banner will travel to various City facilities over the summer, giving residents multiple opportunities to participate:
- July 2 – July 14: Delta City Hall
- July 15 – July 30: South Delta Recreation Centre
- July 31 – August 15: North Delta Recreation Centre
Once complete, the collaborative banner will be proudly displayed at the seventh annual Delta Pride Picnic hosted by the Delta Pride Society on August 17, 2025, at Memorial Park in Ladner.
This initiative builds on Delta’s ongoing commitment to creating inclusive, welcoming spaces for all—regardless of gender identity or sexual orientation. Through collective art-making, the project aims to celebrate diversity and foster a deeper sense of belonging across the community.
About the Artist
Chloe Groth is a queer, Métis/Canadian illustrator. They graduated from Emily Carr University in 2023 with a BFA, majoring in Illustration. They've lived in Ladner for nearly 20 years and has come to appreciate the many little things (especially the birds) that both Ladner and Delta have had to offer. They've done multiple art shows in Vancouver and has been an artist making portraits at Delta Pride events since 2022. With this work, Groth hopes that people can use it as a blank canvas, using the drawing in the middle as a sort of starting point, to express being queer or knowing queerness in Delta.
