News Release: Delta City Manager Departs for City of Vancouver

Donny van Dyk has announced his departure from the City of Delta to become the next City Manager at the City of Vancouver.

Donny has brought strong leadership and thoughtful direction to Delta over the past two years,” said Mayor George V. Harvie. “Council is grateful for his many contributions, from advancing key priorities to fostering a culture of excellence within the organization. He leaves Delta well-positioned for continued success and we wish him all the best in his next chapter.” 

Van Dyk’s last day at the City of Delta will be September 5, 2025. Deputy City Manager Marcy Sangret will act as City Manager while Delta Council establishes a process to appoint a permanent replacement.  

It’s been a privilege to serve this Council as City Manager and work alongside the talented team in Delta,” said City Manager Donny van Dyk. “I’m incredibly appreciative of this opportunity and what we’ve accomplished together. Delta is a remarkable community and while moving on is never easy, I’m confident in the direction the City is headed.”
