Air Quality Warning (July 22, 2026)

Metro Vancouver Regional District has issued a yellow air quality warning for the region due to a combination of hot and sunny weather, local emissions, and wildfire smoke.

The smog, particularly smoke from wildfires, contains fine particulate matter that can pose health risks.

To protect your health, please:

  • Monitor chronic conditions and carry rescue medications with you (e.g. inhalers)
  • Spend time in cool indoor spaces and visit facilities with air conditioning if your home is smoky or too hot
  • Stay hydrated, drinking plenty of water
  • Check in on others who may be more affected
  • Seek medical help if you experience severe symptoms

Conditions are expected to improve by the weekend as the weather condition shifts.
