
At the July 13 Regular Meeting, Delta Council honoured the winners of the 2026 Community Banner Contest.
This annual contest gives artists from across Delta an opportunity to submit their representation of Delta’s heritage and beauty in a variety of different mediums. The winning designs will be seen beautifying City streets from the end of July 2026 through October 2026.
“Congratulations to all the winners of this year’s Community Banner Program,” said Mayor George V. Harvie. "Time and again, Delta has demonstrated that it is home to an incredible wealth of artistic talent. The creativity, vision, and skill of our residents continue to inspire and enrich our community."
From each of the five categories, a winning entry was selected by a panel of judges with representation by the Boundary Bay Quilters Guild and the Arts Council of Delta. The winners received two banners of their designs, a certificate acknowledging their accomplishments, and an honorarium.

Since 2014, the City of Delta has run the Community Banner Design Program to promote the community’s beauty, diversity, and culture, and to highlight the work of local artists. This year, the contest saw 63 submissions between February and May 2026.
