Frequently Asked Questions

• Is registration required?

  Registration is not required, but it is encouraged. 

  Registered participants are guaranteed a carving time at one of our carving stations and will have a light reserved for their pumpkin along the Great Pumpkin Glow Walk.

  Walk-ins are welcome, but carving stations are subject to availability and there may be a wait. Space along the Glow Walk may also be limited. 

  If all reserved lights have been claimed, you’re still welcome to add your pumpkin to the display, but you’ll need to provide your own battery-operated light if you’d like it to glow.

• Is there a cost to participate?

  No. The Great Pumpkin Carve is free to participate in.

  Bring your own pumpkin, or pick up a locally grown pumpkin onsite by cash donation. 

  Food will also be available, including grilled cheese and fresh-cut fries made with Delta-grown potatoes.

• What should I bring?

  Bring your own pumpkin to carve, or bring cash if you'd like to pick up a locally grown pumpkin onsite by donation.

  Carving tools will be provided, but feel free to bring specialized tools if you'd like.

  As this is an outdoor event talking place rain or shine, be sure to dress appropriately for the weather.

  Food will be available onsite, so you may also want to bring money for food purchases and donations.

• Where should I park?

  Parking and transportation information, including recommended parking locations for each event site, will be posted here closer to the event. Please check back before you visit.

• Can adults participate?

  Absolutely!  We welcome people of all ages to participate in The Great Pumpkin Carve.  There will specifically be a Kids Carve category that adults will not be able to participate in, otherwise everything else will be fair game!

• Can I take my pumpkin home after carving it?

  Those that register will be expected to leave their pumpkins onsite to join in creating the Great Pumpkin Glow Walk.  All participants in the Great Pumpkin Glow Walk will automatically be entered into the carving contest to win one of five prizes.

  Those that do participate in the Glow Walk can pick up their pumpkins on October 31 before 12:00 PM to display at their house in time for Halloween. 

  If you prefer to join in the festivities but take your pumpkin home with you immediately, we ask that you please not register for a spot, but instead participate at the walk-in level.

• Do I need to attend the carving event to visit the Glow Walk?

  No!  We encourage everyone, participants and public alike, to come back between October 24 and October 31 to enjoy the Glow Walk and vote for their favourite pumpkins.

• How does voting work?

  Voting will be available on site via a physical entry form.  You are welcome to vote for as many pumpkins as you'd like, in as many categories as you'd like.  Once voting closes on October 31, the votes will be tallied, and the winners will be contacted the following Monday.
