Free Sustainable Workshops

Free Sustainable Workshops are back! Delta residents can register for free gardening and green living workshops to help create a more sustainable community. Our local instructors will teach you how to grow your own food, care for your garden, harvest honey, and more! Workshops are held in North Delta and South Delta starting in the spring. Workshops are free, but registration is required.

Learn how food gets from the farm to your plate and why so much of it goes to waste. This hands-on, interactive workshop explores the environmental impacts of food waste and practical ways to prevent it at home and beyond. Participants will take part in engaging activities, then put learning into action by cooking and sharing a simple, delicious meal designed to reduce food waste. This free workshop combines learning, cooking, and reflection, and is suitable for all skill levels.  

For ages 13 and up (ages 13–15 must be accompanied by an adult).

Weaving Sustainability: Basket Making from Invasive Ivy

Learn how to turn invasive ivy into something beautiful and useful in this free, hands-on workshop. Participants will prepare ivy and use simple weaving techniques to create a functional basket while learning about sustainable practices and invasive species management. No experience needed; all materials provided. For ages 13+

Bike Repair Basics: Sustainable Cycling Workshop

Learn how to keep your bike running smoothly in this free, hands-on workshop offered by HUB Cycling in partnership with the City of Delta. Trained and experienced mechanics will be on-site with tools to help participants learn basic bike maintenance and repairs, supporting safe and sustainable transportation. No prior experience required, all skill levels welcome.
