To celebrate the final day of Youth Week, you're invited to join us for YOUTHAPALOOZA!  What is that? It's a barbeque, a 3-on-3 basketball tournament, a job/volunteer  fair, arcade truck, a Silent Dance Party (where you wear headphones and get to decide between three different playlists what you are grooving to), and an Open Stage. You do not want to miss this!

Turtle Invasion Presentation

Join a Metro Vancouver Regional Park Interpreter for an interactive presentation (with props) on local & invasive turtles and their underwater lives. Head out on a short nature walk to the pond to look for turtles and learn more about their habitat. Take home a ‘turtle-rrific’ craft that you’ll create with museum staff. Please register all those who will be attending. Adult participation required.

March is Women's History Month. Come to the Douglas J. Husband Discovery Centre and watch 'Prairie Women' - a documentary film illustrating the struggles of Canadian prairies women to achieve a more just and humane society within the farm movement and at large. During the early 1900s, women on the prairies looked for ways to overcome their isolation. Out of the resulting farm women's organizations grew a group of women possessing remarkable intellectual abilities, social and cultural awareness, and advanced worldviews.

Battle of the Badges

The City of Delta, in partnership with the Delta School District, is hosting the 10th annual Battle of the Badges. This invite-only event is reserved exclusively for Delta School District students and will welcome nearly 1900 students in Grades 4-7.

Mark Black History Month and come to the Douglas J. Husband Discovery Centre to see 'The Road Taken'. This 1996 documentary from our National Film Board Movie Series takes a nostalgic ride through history to present the experiences of Black sleeping-car porters who worked on Canada's railways from the early 1900s through the 1960s. There was a strong sense of pride among these men and they were well-respected by their community.
