The City of Delta is proud to support local non-profit organizations and community groups through our Community Grants Program. This program provides financial assistance for projects, programs, and initiatives that benefit the Delta community. Whether your organization focuses on social development, cultural activities, environmental projects, or community-based events, the Community Grants Program is designed to help support these initiatives.
Program Overview
The Community Grants Program allows eligible organizations to apply for funding up to $10,000 per calendar year. This financial support is meant to encourage initiatives that:
- Strengthen and enhance the well-being of Delta's community.
- Benefit residents facing social, physical, or economic disadvantages.
- Promote volunteering, cultural understanding, or inclusivity.
- Partner with other service providers in Delta.
Please note, the City of Delta’s community grants budget totals $150,000 per year. As well, meeting the eligibility requirements does not guarantee funding.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the Community Grants Program, organizations must meet the following criteria:
- Be a non-profit organization with a BC Society Number or a Charitable Registration Number;
- Provide services that primarily benefit Delta residents; and
- Not receive other support from the City of Delta (such as permissive tax exemptions or service agreements).
Eligible expenses include special projects, community programs, event sponsorships, and capital costs. However, direct financial assistance to individuals or families, ongoing operational expenses, and certain other costs are not eligible.
How to Apply
Applications for the Community Grants Program can be submitted during one of two annual intakes:
- First intake: Applications accepted until January 15.
- Second intake: Applications accepted until June 15.
To apply, download and complete the Delta Community Grants Fund Application form, and submit it via email to communitygrants@delta.ca.
Once submitted, all applications will be reviewed, and organizations will be notified of their grant status in spring (for the first intake) or fall (for the second intake).
Please ensure your organization reviews the Delta Community Grants Funding Policy.
Spending and Reporting Requirements
If your application is successful, you will have 12 months to utilize the grant for the approved project or initiative. A final report on how the funds were used and the impact on the community will be required.
