Is it really garbage?
Before you trash it, search it using our Recycle Coach App! It might be a recyclable or compostable item.

What Goes in the Garbage?
Not much! Household items that are not recyclable, compostable, or reusable can be placed in the garbage. Ensure all accepted garbage material is contained in cans or bags – loose items will not be collected.
Certain materials are banned and prohibited from the garbage in our region because they are either easily recyclable or because they are hazardous to collection workers, the public, or the environment. Please visit Metro Vancouver’s website for a complete list of banned and prohibited materials.
