Notice: Glass Bottle and Jar Collection Suspended
Due to flooding experienced by receiving facilities and transportation challenges caused by road closures, Recycle BC has made the difficult decision to suspend the collection of glass materials.
As a result, the City of Delta will be suspending the collection of Grey Box and Grey Bin materials (glass bottles and jars) beginning Monday, November 22. In addition, the intake of glass and foam packaging materials at Recycle BC drop-off depots will also be suspended effective Monday, November 22.
The change to regular collection services affects municipalities throughout Metro Vancouver and residents are being asked to store glass materials until further notice. We apologize for the inconvenience that this may cause and thank you for your patience.
Collection Updates due to COVID-19
There is currently no disruption to the collection of weekly garbage, recycling, and green waste.
Please help ensure Delta's collection contractor can maintain their regular collection schedule by limiting the amount of material you place at the curb for collection.
At this time, unbagged or loose garbage items will not be collected for the safety of collection crews. Please ensure all garbage, including the following items, are placed in tied bags for disposal:
- Personal hygiene products, used tissues, sanitary wipes (even those labeled compostable or flushable), paper towels and napkins, cleaning cloths, face masks, and gloves. If you are sick or are caring for someone who is sick, please double bag all personal waste in securely tied garbage bags and dispose of as regular garbage.
To request Blue Boxes, Grey Boxes, Yellow Bags, or Collection Guides, please contact Delta Engineering at 604-946-3260 or by email.
