Welcoming Week: Celebrating Newcomer Voices

As part of our Welcoming Week celebrations, the Delta Local Immigration Partnership (LIP) and Fraser Valley Regional Library (FVRL) will host Celebrating Newcomer Voices in partnership with the City on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, from 1 to 4 pm at the George Mackie Library. 

This free event will feature storytelling, community-building activities, and opportunities for participants to share experiences and celebrate belonging.

Bat Talk & Walk: North Delta

Come out for a night of adventure as we learn more about bats and go on a walk to see them in their natural habitat. The night will start with an hour-long presentation at George Mackie Library filled with fascinating facts. Participants will then drive themselves to Sunstone Park where we will reconvene and set out on a bat walk. During the walk, we will discuss echolocation and how to safely watch bats. Join us for an extraordinary night of bat education and fun. Please wear close-toed shoes, pants, and long sleeves for the walk.

Luminary Festival

The Luminary Festival is a special, sparkling, end-of-summer event! Illuminate yourself with costume and lights, and create a lantern to light the wayl!

This free annual community festival returns to Sunstone Park on Saturday, September 6! Join us for an evening of magical light displays, entertainment, lantern making, food vendors and interactive activities!

This year’s Airshow will delight all age groups with great performances and fan interactions by amazing pilots. We are thrilled to be welcoming the Canadian Forces Snowbirds as our headlining act. Airshow fans can look forward to exhilarating aerobatic performances from talented pilots such as Kyle Fowler, Vicky Benzing, Brad Wursten and Yuichi Takagi. The next edition of Elliott Street Wharf features jazz/pop duo Tea for Two!

With both Aidan Farrell and Richard White providing vocals and Aidan on keys, they perform a range of music from well known Jazz Standards to R&B to Soul to Pop with original arrangements and tight harmonies. 'Tea For Two' treads the line between sophistication and fun to provide audiences with elevated music experience. Both Richard & Aidan wish to not only entertain but to create an infectiously fun energy that'll make any occasion that much more special and memorable.

Although not the full 5 piece band “Ranj Singh and The Discriminators”, “The Ranj Singh Trio” still brings to the stage subtle Indian melodies and rhythms to originals and classic covers.

Ranj Singh is an award-winning international touring and recording artist.
