Regulates traffic, parking and the use of highways, boulevards, sidewalks and public land within Delta.
At the May 9, 2011 Regular Meeting, Council finally considered and adopted Highways Bylaw No. 6922, 2011, which repealed Highways Bylaw No. 4900, 1995. This bylaw is enforced by Delta Police, Bylaw Inspectors and Engineering Department staff.
Delta's Highways Bylaw No. 4900, 1994 became outdated due to the introduction of the Community Charter in 2003 and emerging enforcement issues and also required clarification and updating. Revision of the Highways Bylaw involved input of a number of stakeholders including, representatives from the Delta Police Department's Traffic Section, staff from Delta's Property Use and Compliance Section and Engineering staff.
