Delta Landscapes Art Competition

We are calling all artists, both budding and professional living across the City of Delta. It is time to showcase your creativity and passion for landscape art. Artists of all mediums and styles are invited to showcase their unique interpretations of landscapes representing this beautiful place we call home, Delta. 

We welcome natural and artificial subjects, whether cityscapes, water habitats, rural, forested or abstract concepts. The inspiration can come from any type of landscape or from any timeline. Let’s get creative and showcase our vibrant community in different art forms.

All types of visual arts will be considered, including but not limited to: Painting, Mixed Media and Photography.

Timeline

  • Contest duration: September 1 - 30, 2024
  • Deadline for Entries: September 30, 2024
  • Voting open to the public: October to November 2024
  • Reception: November 2024 
  • Exhibition of Winning Artworks: November to December 2024

We are currently only accepting online submissions. If your submission was hand drawn or painted, please take a photo of your design and submit the photo. If you have any questions, please email culturalservices@delta.ca

November 29 - Open Stage, 7pm

Entertain and be entertained!

November 30 - Delta Christmas Tree Lighting, 4pm

Kick off the holiday season with the Christmas Tree Lighting and family-friendly activities.

November 30 - Movie Night: Elf, 6:30

Will Ferrell in his green and white elf costume against a blue and white snowy background, with the words ELF in a red font with green outline.

Immediately following the Tree Lighting Event, we are presenting Elf! Doors open at 6:30pm, and the show will begin at 6:45pm

December 3 - Delta Music Makers Christmas Concert, 7pm

Join the Delta Music Makers for a free Christmas Concert at Ladner Community Centre(by donation).

December 7 - Delta Ukulele Circle, 2:30pm

Led by Gary Cyr, the Delta Ukulele Circle is an enthusiastic, welcoming and supportive crowd of music lovers with an appreciation for the ukulele!

December 10 - Delta Concert Band Christmas Concert, 7pm

Join the Delta Concert Band for a free Christmas Concert at the North Delta Centre for the Arts (by donation).

December 14 - Youth Christmas Holiday Market, 10 am

This is an exciting opportunity for young artisans to showcase and sell their crafts.

December 14 - Ballet BC Annex, 7pm

Ballet dancers in colouful urban, athletic clothing pose in the middle of a ballet performance with six members surrounding a woman in the centre who is mid jump.

Take in a stellar performance from Ballet BC Annex at the North Delta Centre for the Arts.

December 15 - Delta Concert Band Family Christmas Concert, 3pm

Join the Delta Concert Band for a free afternoon Christmas Concert at the North Delta Centre for the Arts (by donation).

December 19 - Movie Night: How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000), 6:30pm

December 21 - Movie Night; Christmas Vacation (1989), 7 pm

Chevy Chase, as Clark Griswold, is being electrocuted by colourful Christmas lights atop his house while donning a Santa Claus costume as presents are ejected in several directions.

The Griswalds try to make the most of the holidays in this classic Christmas comedy.

December 23 - Movie Night: The Polar Express (2004), 6:30 pm

A small boy stands outside in the middle of the night in just his night gown, in front of the titular Polar Express: a huge steam engine train with a penetrating white light emerging from its front.

A young boy who has grown skeptical of Santa Claus is shocked to see a train stop outside his window on Christmas Eve, destined for the North Pole.
