In-person Cultural Services programming returns to Delta Parks, Recreation & Culture Facilities this fall!. From drama, fine arts, and music, we have plenty of opportunities for you to learn something new, hone your craft, or perform in front of others.

Arts Plein Air
Join us each week for Arts Plein Air - Arts Outdoors. The focus of this program is watercolour painting. Relax and gain inspiration from being outdoors. Prior to class, you will be sent your supply kit for the session. Just bring that and a comfy chair and we'll do the rest.

Join us each week for Arts Plein Air - Arts Outdoors. The focus of this program is watercolour painting. Relax and gain inspiration from being outdoors. Supplies included in your registration. Meet at the Social Heart Plaza in front of the outdoor pool.

Creative Writing - Writing with/in Nature
Writers throughout history have looked to the natural world and the communities around them for inspiration. In this course, we will write in many places - not only in the classroom, but in parks, at playgrounds and beneath the trees. Explore how land, place and space interact to influence your voice as an author.

Hand Sewing
Learn basic hand sewing skills. Sew a small stuffed animal or object.
Just Draw

Open Mic
Share the stage with a variety of singers, musicians, poets and actors at this intergenerational monthly event, or sit back and enjoy the talent. Entertain and be entertained. $5 at the door for both performers and audience members. Doors open at 7pm. Performances start at 7:30pm.

Outdoor Art!
Create fun and messy art projects outside! Enjoy the sunshine while we create with several types of fun projects such as splatter paint, chalk paint, bubble painting, and squirt gun art! The messier, the better.
Painting
Experiment and explore with a variety of unique projects, using acrylic and watercolour paints.Learn various tips and tricks, including how to blend colours together, how to properly care for your materials, as well as composition and layout techniques
Pottery Handbuilding
Projects include a variety of techniques including sculpture, slab building, draping and coils. Clay included. Instructors: Delta Potters Association.

Pottery Mermaids, Pirates and Ice Cream!
Use our imagination and have a sea adventure! A mermaid or kraken sculpture might be fun to make, with a little sea cave treasure box and a starfish or two! Other projects include Ice cream bowls and a hand-painted tile; decorated with drawings of pirate ships or swaying palm trees. Let's not forget to make a sculpture of our favourite pet to share the adventure with! All clay supplies, dinnerware safe glazes and kiln firing included! Instructor: Venetia Inglis

Create a gnome tree-door tile with a little stone pathway, to invite magic into our garden! A sculpted knight's castle plant pot, equipped with an octopus moat is a must, to keep any gremlins away! Summer sn't complete without a picnic. Let's make a teapot, pinch pot cups and a little cookie platter; perhaps a sculpture of our favourite pet, to help eat the cookies! Baby Music Time
Little ones gain musical awareness and an increased sense of beat through rhymes, dance, singing, echoing and small percussion instruments. Parents will be provided with ideas to encourage music in their children's lives.

Ballet for Adults Summer
Encouraging a solid understanding of posture, alignment, technique and ballet aesthetic, this dance class provides a welcoming atmosphere, a sense of joy, humour and professional instruction. This non-competitive atmosphere is an opportunity to revisit the joy & strength in your body. Summer Session Registration - to be called by the Monday prior to saying whether it's running or not.

This is a parent participation class. Dance like a butterfly, leap like a lizard. Little ones will learn the ABCs of movement, rhythm and dance steps in this creative class.

Learn the latest in hip hop & dance to trendy new tunes.
Movement & Dance Sampler
This is a great introduction to movement for both girls and boys. Each class will begin with movement to get little bodies warmed up and ready to dance. Dancers will be exposed to a variety of dance styles. The goal is to get them moving and have fun.
Explore the Arts
Not sure which genre of art is for you? This class will introduce you to a variety of hands-on sessions that include performing and visuals art activities. Camp runs Monday - Friday and will take place both indoors and outdoors. Make plans to perform what you've learned on the Friday.

inkwelltold
In partnership with Delta Literary Arts Society, inkwelltold is a bi-monthly reading in conversation series. Each evening will feature two readers and a Q&A session. Open to all ages. Admission is free.
The Delta Ukulele Circle
Led by Gary Cyr, the Delta Ukulele Circle is an enthusiastic, welcoming and supportive crowd of music lovers with an appreciation for the ukulele. This tiny instrument provides a unique opportunity for individuals wanting to play and enjoy music together with others in a very social setting. Admission is $5. This is a drop-in program.
