The City of Delta has published its Draft 2023 Annual Report outlining the City’s significant achievements, financial performance, and key initiatives undertaken throughout the past year. It provides an in-depth look at the City's progress and details its financial statements, ensuring transparency and accountability to the public.
“The 2023 Annual Report showcases the progress we have made as a community and is an essential tool for keeping the public informed and engaged with the City’s activities and future plans,” said Donny van Dyk, Delta City Manager. “From streamlining processes, to enhancing our infrastructure, to the delivery of programs and services, we have made meaningful achievements and set a strong foundation to achieve Council’s goals and priorities."
In 2024, the City took steps to provide more housing in our community by streamlining processes and making updates to procedures, in addition to making substantial progress on major capital projects for recreation amenities and sports infrastructure, including the new Winskill Park lawn bowling green and fieldhouse, completion of the Ladner Leisure Centre roof upgrades, and the replacement of the synthetic turf field and lighting upgrades at North Delta Community Park.
The City also developed new strategic plans including the Accessibility Plan, Agricultural Plan, Cycling Master Plan, Social Action Plan, and Rental and Tenant Protection Policies. As well, Delta ratified both the Fire and CUPE memorandums of agreement and achieved a Certificate of Recognition audit score of 93% from WorkSafe BC.
In addition to highlighting our service and project achievements for the last full operating year, the Annual Report also details the City’s permissive tax exemptions and Audited Financial Statements. The 2023 Annual Report is now available on the City of Delta's website at: Delta.ca/2023AnnualReport.
Delta residents and businesses are invited to review the 2023 Annual Report before it is considered by Delta Council at the June 24, 2024 Regular Meeting.
