Awesome Afterschool is a licensed before- and after-school care program offered at South Delta Recreation Centre, Pinewood Leisure Centre, and North Delta Recreation Centre. It is available to students from kindergarten to grade six. The program promotes an active lifestyle for kids, providing time in the gym/halls for fun activities. In addition, program leaders and participants take part in a variety of community projects throughout the year, focusing on a pay-it-forward initiative and teamwork.
What schools participate in Awesome Afterschool?
South Delta Recreation Centre
We pick up and drop off at Beach Grove Elementary and South Park Elementary.
Pinewood Leisure Centre
We pick up and drop off from Pinewood Elementary.
North Delta Recreation Centre
We pick up and drop off from Richardson Elementary and Devon Gardens Elementary.

Program days/times
- The program is offered Monday–Friday
- Before-school care runs from 7–9 am
- After-school care runs from 3–6 pm
- The program is not offered on stat holidays (Delta Parks, Recreation & Culture offer a variety of Winter Break, Spring and Summer camps, so please check out the Events Calendar at delta.ca)
Cost
Before-school care
Monthly rate: $171/student, $144/sibling
Daily rate: $12/student, $10/sibling
After-school care
Monthly rate: $288/student, $247.50/sibling
Daily Rate: $20/student, $16/sibling
Awesome Afterschool can be paid for on an equal payment plan.
All payments by pre-authorized credit card will be made on: September 1, October 1, November 1, December 1, January 1, February 1, March 1, April 1, May 1, June 1.

Additional Information
- There will be paperwork that will need to be filled out prior to the program’s start.
- Students are welcome to register at any point during the year, should we still have space available.
- If your child requires support, please let us know prior to them starting the program.
- Each student should come to the program with a healthy after-school snack (please note, we maintain a nut-free environment).
- Awesome Afterschool is available to parents requiring subsidy for childcare.
