On behalf of Delta Council, Mayor George V. Harvie sent a letter to Minister Adrian Dix and Dr. Victoria Lee for their combined efforts to support Delta residents throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
Recently, the Provincial Government, Fraser Health, and the City of Delta have combined forces to return the Irene Thomas Hospice to the people of Delta, establish an immunization clinic in North Delta at the North Delta Recreation Centre, and secure first doses of vaccine for Delta’s first responders.
“First and foremost, the role of government is to serve its citizens. We are so fortunate to have partners at other levels of government and agencies like Minister Dix and Dr. Lee who follow this same ethos. We are going through an extremely challenging and unprecedented period and I want to recognize my colleagues in other organizations who have really stepped up to make life better for our community. The Province, through Minister Dix, and Fraser Health, under the leadership of Dr. Lee, have worked tirelessly to serve the people of Delta and should be commended for that.”
