Delta Residents Invited to Participate Early in 2025 Budget

The City of Delta is getting an early start on the 2025 Budget process with the engagement program that gets underway this week. This year, the public will have more opportunities to get involved and share their ideas and feedback.

Beginning today, residents are invited to review the City’s progress on its Goals and Priorities and provide feedback before September 28. The feedback form can be completed online at letstalkdelta.ca/2025-Budget. Paper copies are also available at City Hall. The input gathered will be provided to staff to help shape the draft financial plan and will be shared with Council and the community.

“Residents have asked for greater participation in the budget process and Council has made this a priority,” said Mayor George V. Harvie. “Starting early and offering more ways to participate is intended to make it easier for residents to get involved and provides staff and Council more time to thoughtfully consider the needs of our community as we plan for the year ahead. We hope residents will take advantage of the opportunities available.”

The second phase of the 2025 Budget engagement program will get underway in October where residents will have the opportunity to review the draft financial plan, complete an online feedback form and discuss it with staff at the following events.

In-Person Open Houses:

  • October 24 – North Delta Centre for the Arts from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
  • October 26 – South Delta Recreation Centre from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm

Online Information Session*:

  • October 28 from 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm

*This session includes a presentation by City staff followed by a Q&A period. Registration is required.

The feedback collected during these sessions will be summarized and presented to Delta Council at the start of the Council Workshops planned for November 13, 14, and 20. These workshops will be open to the public and held in the Council Chamber. More information will be available on Delta.ca early November.
