Help protect BC's bats from White-Nose Syndrome

As a Bat Friendly Community, the City of Delta is committed to protecting and enhancing bat habitat and promoting learning and awareness about the value of local bat colonies in our natural environment. Bats are an essential part of BC’s ecosystem and provide billions of dollars in economic benefits to North America by helping control agricultural, forest, and urban pests.

White-Nose Syndrome (WNS) is a fungal disease harmless to humans, but devastating to bats. WNS causes bats to wake from hibernation, using limited fat reserves leading to death from hypothermia and starvation. It has been detected in Washington State and researchers are asking for your help to protect BC bats.
