
The City of Delta is pleased to announce that Delta Council has appointed Peter Weeber as the new City Manager. Mr. Weeber is an accomplished municipal leader with more than two decades of experience in both the public and private sectors. He has served as Chief Administrative Officer in several communities across British Columbia, most recently with the City of Vernon, where he advanced major housing initiatives, modernized planning frameworks, and led construction of the $136 million Active Living Centre.
“I am excited to join the City of Delta and partner with Delta Council and staff to deliver on Council’s vision for the community, including investing in modern facilities and amenities that meet the needs of residents today and into the future. I look forward to supporting Delta in delivering these projects while strengthening the City’s long-term growth and success,” said incoming City Manager Peter Weeber.
The search for a new City Manager followed former City Manager Donny van Dyk’s decision to pursue new opportunities. Deputy City Manager Marcy Sangret will continue to serve as Acting City Manager during the transition until Mr. Weeber begins his tenure November 17, 2025.

Peter Weeber is a seasoned municipal leader with a proven record as Chief Administrative Officer in communities across British Columbia, including Vernon, Penticton, Mackenzie, Queen Charlotte, Stewart, and Terrace. Known for strategic leadership and collaborative problem solving, he has overseen complex municipal operations and financial plans, advanced housing and land-use strategies, and delivered major capital projects such as Vernon’s $136 million Active Living Centre.
Peter also brings private sector expertise from his tenure as General Manager at Peters Bros Construction, one of Western Canada’s largest road construction and paving company.
He holds a Bachelor of Applied Business (B. Comm) and has completed advanced training in local government administration and emergency management through the Justice Institute of British Columbia and Camosun College. His educational foundation complements his board and committee service, including serving on the Inter-Municipal Advisory Network for Mayors and CAOs in the Okanagan.
