The City of Delta is inviting residents and business owners to share their feedback on the new Ladner Village brand concepts and preliminary design for Chisholm Street Upgrades. These initiatives are part of the broader Ladner Village Revitalization efforts, which support the ongoing work to activate the Village and improve connections to the waterfront. The engagement runs from February 25 to March 22, 2026, with online and in-person opportunities available to learn more and speak directly with staff.
“Council knows how deeply people care about the character of Ladner Village,” said Mayor George V. Harvie. “This engagement is about listening carefully and inviting residents and businesses to help shape how the Village evolves, while respecting the history, character, and sense of place that matter so much to the community.”
The City is developing a Ladner Village brand to express the area’s identity, character, and sense of place. The work builds on earlier community engagement, where residents and businesses shared the importance of protecting the Village’s character while allowing it to evolve. Drawing from that input, along with local history and conversations with community members, the City developed a unifying brand idea, Shaped by the River, and two preliminary brand concepts to support further community feedback before a preferred direction is brought forward to Council.
In addition to the proposed branding, the City is seeking feedback on a preliminary design concept for Chisholm Street that builds on recent improvements at the Chisholm Street Wharf. The concept explores a more people-focused street that strengthens connections between Ladner Village and the waterfront, and includes a potential one-way, westbound traffic configuration, angled parking, and a multi-use pathway connecting to nearby amenities. Parking considerations, informed by a recent parking study, will continue to be part of the discussion as community feedback is gathered.
