The City of Delta is making infrastructure improvements to two intersections through the support of the Province’s Active Transportation Infrastructure Grants Program.
Delta has been awarded two BC Active Transportation Grants to make upgrades at the intersections of 116 Street and 75A Avenue, as well as Nicholson Road and Chateau Wynd. These upgrades will improve pedestrian and cyclist safety, connecting the community and encouraging more people to choose active transportation.
The projects consist of new pedestrian crossings and signals, in addition to bike crossing improvements at 116 Street and 75A Avenue.
“Ensuring our community has opportunities for safe, active transportation is a key priority—especially as our City continues to grow,” said George V. Harvie, Mayor of Delta. “These intersection upgrades will support active modes of transportation and gives our residents the ability to safely walk, cycle, and take transit around our community. I am thankful for the financial support from the Province to make these upgrades and help us create a healthier, more interconnected Delta.”
Delta received a total of $412,000 in grants for the two projects, which are set to be completed by Spring of 2025.
