News Release: City of Delta "Amping Up" City Events with New Vision for 2026

Learn more about the City Events coming up in 2026.

The City of Delta is excited to bring a vibrant vision for City events to life in 2026, featuring several new marquee events and community celebrations, alongside many returning favourites.

With the success of 2025’s new events like Ladders, Lights & Loaders and DIYAfest, the City of Delta plans to continue building on this momentum, presenting a vision for dynamic events that bring the community together, while showcasing the diversity and depth of Delta’s cultural scene to broader audiences. The events coming to Delta in 2026 aim to leverage new venues and activate community hubs in refreshing ways, “amping up” event offerings throughout the year.

Delta’s 2026 event calendar includes the addition of the following new major events:

  • Barns to Beaches Festival celebrates cycling, music, and outdoor adventure along the new 16 km Barns to Beaches Bike Route connecting Tsawwassen and Ladner. The festival features a signature “Ride the Route” experience with stops along the way, culminating in live music, vendor market, food vendors, and family-friendly activities at the Southlands Red Barn in Tsawwassen.
  • Community Soccer Fan Zones will bring the excitement of the world’s biggest soccer tournament to Delta, with vibrant community watch party hubs at the Chisholm Street Wharf and North Delta Recreation Centre. Open throughout the FIFA World Cup 2026™ tournament in June and July, the Fan Zones invite devoted supporters and casual fans alike to watch and cheer during almost every match on the big screen—free of charge.
  • The Great Pumpkin Carve is a festive fall celebration that honours local farmers and the pumpkin harvest while inviting residents to get creative just in time for Halloween. Wander glowing trails lined with carved pumpkins, enjoy live entertainment and food trucks, snap seasonal photos, and carve your own masterpiece at hands-on stations. Events will pop up in both North and South Delta.

“We are excited to bring this new vision for events to Delta residents in 2026, while continuing to build upon the successes of familiar favourites,” said Mayor George V. Harvie. “There are already so many reasons to celebrate in Delta—the addition of a significant global event like the FIFA World Cup provides us with a new, thrilling way to bring our community together, and presents an opportunity to reimagine our approach to signature events.”

Alongside these new celebrations, there are several events returning to Delta in 2026 and beyond, some of which will see some updates. Canada Day—which has become one of Delta’s cornerstone events—will be expanded at Chalmers Park to further support the festival-style atmosphere, adjusting hours to align more closely with peak attendance; DIYAfest will return to North Delta with a larger slate of performers and vendors; and Ladders, Lights & Loaders will return in 2027 and 2029, alternating sites in North and South Delta.

Boundary Bay Airshow

Unfortunately, the Boundary Bay Airshow will not be returning in 2026. Delta is grateful to Alpha Aviation for the years of partnership in hosting the Airshow, which over nearly two decades has become a beloved summer event for the entire region. We are thankful for our continued relationship with Alpha Aviation, including their President Melissa Sayers and Founder Fred Kaiser, and we look forward to working with them to identify opportunities for future collaboration.

Information on the full list of 2026 events can be found on the newly enhanced Delta events webpage at delta.ca/events. All the essential details on new and returning events will be shared on this page as they are confirmed.
