What’s Happening

I am going to day camp at the Recreation Centre/Park. I will make friends, play games, create crafts, and try new activities.

Social Stories Day Camps first time

Where

Day camp takes place at Delta's recreation centres. 

We will also go outside for games or walking trips.

Who

My camp leaders will help me and keep me safe. There will be other campers too.

Steps

  1. Arrive and check in.
  2. Put my belongings in the backpack area.
  3. Join group activities like crafts, games, or sports.
  4. Listen to my leaders when it’s time to change activities.
  5. Eat lunch and snacks with my group.
  6. At the end of the day, my parent/guardian will pick me up.
At day camps, coats are hung on the rack.

Sensory Expectations

Parts of the day are noisy and busy. 

I can ask a leader for a break or quiet time when I need it.

  • Stay with my group.
  • Listen to my leaders.
  • Use kind words and gentle hands.
