Social Story: Visiting the Delta Archives

Is this your first time at a heritage program?

Read about what you can expect when visiting the Delta Archives for the first time.

What’s Happening

I am going to learn about Delta’s history. I will examine records that teach me about the history of Delta.

Where

I arrive at 4450 Clarance Taylor Crescent.

Easy access parking is in the roundabout, and I take the stairs or ramp to the main entrance.

I walk inside the main building and walk in the door with the big Archives sign.

Sensory Expectations

The Archives is a quiet place for people to study, and I can ask staff to close the door if it is too noisy in the gallery.

  • I will wash my hands prior to examining the records to make sure the records are not affected by the oils on my hands.

  • I will keep the records in the original order that I found them in the file.

  • I will keep food and drink away from the records.

  • I will take notes on scrap paper with a pencil.
