Grab your popcorn and come down to the Discovery Centre on Thursday, January 16 at 6:30pm for our first ever Winter Movie Series. During the cold months of the year, we will be showing educational documentary films to keep our brains active. For the January edition, we will be showing The Whale and the Raven directed by Mirjam Leuze.
A bit about the film from National Film Board: This documentary explores the relationship of the Gitga’at First Nations peoples of British Columbia with the land, the whales and the scientists who study the whales in their territory. Touches on the struggles of maintaining land sovereignty while companies try to build oil pipelines and hunters try to take from the land.
