Councillor Dylan Kruger Appointed to Metro Vancouver Board of Directors

On Monday, Delta Council voted to reaffirm Mayor George V. Harvie and to appoint Councillor Dylan Kruger as Delta’s two representatives on the Metro Vancouver Board of Directors. In the same vote, Council endorsed the appointment of Councillors Jeannie Kanakos and Bruce McDonald as alternates to the Metro Vancouver Board.

The unanimous vote by Delta Council makes Kruger the youngest Director at the Metro Vancouver Board table.

“As Mayor of Delta, it is important to me to support the next generation of leadership in our community,” said Delta Mayor George Harvie. That’s why I asked Councillor Kruger to run for Delta Council and that’s why I was proud to nominate him as one of Delta’s two directors at Metro Vancouver.”

“It’s a huge honour to be appointed as a Metro Vancouver Director by members of Delta Council,” said Kruger. “I am excited to get to work along with Mayor Harvie to represent Delta’s interests in the region. It’s important that the Metro Vancouver Board of Directors reflects the diversity of our communities. ”

In 2019, Mayor Harvie committed to ensuring that the second director position be rotated annually, in order to provide a diversity of perspectives to the Metro Vancouver Board.
