Due to the Chilcotin River landslide, a High Debris and Streamflow Advisory has been issued for the Fraser River (Issued 4:00 pm on August 5). Higher than normal stream flows and heavy debris are expected over the next few days.
As defined by BC's Ministry of Water, Land and Resource Stewardship, a High Streamflow Advisory means that river levels are rising or expected to rise rapidly, but that no major flooding is expected. Fast-flowing bodies of water increase risk to life safety. Minor flooding in low-lying areas is possible.
Please remember to use caution when visiting nearby rivers or dikes.
