On June 17, Mayor Harvie sent a letter to the Right Honourable Justin Trudeau and the Honourable John Horgan. The letter was co-signed by the Mayor of Richmond Malcolm Brodie, Chief Ken Baird, Tsawwassen First Nation and Chief Wayne Sparrow, Musqueam Indian Band, and requests collaborative action to establish a sustainable dredging program to mitigate the economic, social and environmental impacts that occur when sediment is allowed to accumulate and block important local waterways.
