News Release: 2025 Community Satisfaction Survey Results to Inform 2026 Budget

Following the completion of the 2025 Community Satisfaction Survey, the City of Delta is taking the next step in using resident feedback to shape its priorities. Survey results were shared with Delta Council at their meeting on May 5, 2025 and will now be provided to staff to help guide the development of the 2026 Budget.

More than 2,000 residents participated in the survey which ran from February 13 to March 16 earlier this year, offering a representative and statistically reliable snapshot of community sentiment. The survey findings show that most residents feel positively about life in Delta, appreciate the City’s recreational amenities, safety, and natural spaces, and believe they receive good value for their tax dollars.

"The results of this survey provide an important foundation for planning future services and investments," said Mayor George V. Harvie. "We are grateful to the many residents who took the time to share their views, and we remain committed to building a community that reflects their needs and aspirations."

Key highlights from the 2025 Community Satisfaction Survey include:

  • 76% of residents are satisfied with life in Delta
  • 69% would recommend moving to Delta
  • 66% agree that the City is doing a good or very job delivering services
  • 82% feel they receive fair to very good value for their tax dollars
  • Transportation infrastructure, population growth, and recreational amenities ranked as top emerging priorities

In addition to informing department plans and the 2026 Budget, the survey findings will help track progress toward the City's broader vision and priorities. The City has also established an Online Community Panel, with nearly 700 residents registered, which will be used for future consultation and engagement initiatives.

The survey findings are available at delta.ca/community-survey. As Delta plans for the future, ongoing feedback from residents will continue to play a vital role in ensuring City services, programs, and infrastructure investments align with community needs.
