News Release: City of Delta and Delta Chamber of Commerce Host a Successful State of the City Economic Business Breakfast

This morning, the Delta Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the City of Delta, hosted the 2025 State of the City: Economic Business Breakfast, a key gathering for business and community leaders. The event served as a cornerstone for dialogue on the City’s economic future, bringing together members of Delta Council, local business owners, developers, and community stakeholders to discuss opportunities, challenges, and strategies for sustainable growth.

Attendees heard from Mayor George V. Harvie, Tsawwassen First Nation Chief Laura Cassidy, and a panel of industry experts including Amit Sidhu (BC Real Estate Association), Jason Tonin (Beedie), and Saad Dara (Mangrove Lithium).

Highlights of the morning included:

  • Progress the City has made toward Council’s goals and priorities
  • Updates on housing initiatives including, the Housing Accelerator Fund and the Provincial Housing Target Order
  • Major capital projects underway across the City
  • Insightful presentations on residential, commercial, and industrial development opportunities
  • Discussions on strategies to support local businesses and drive sustainable long-term growth.

The breakfast also provided a Question-and-Answer session and valuable networking opportunities for attendees, fostering connections and partnerships within Delta’s thriving business community.
