News Release: City of Delta Announces 2026 Spring Clean-Up Collection Dates

Spring Clean-Up 2026 Dates

The City of Delta is pleased to announce the return of Spring Clean-Up in 2026. This annual program provides residents with the opportunity to dispose of excess or bulky household items alongside regular garbage collection, just in time for the spring season.

“Delta Council is happy to see Spring Clean-Up returning in 2026, making it convenient for Delta’s residents to dispose of unwanted items while reducing illegal dumping in our community,” said Mayor George V. Harvie. “Residents look forward to this event every year as an opportunity to dispose of clutter responsibly. I encourage residents to embrace this program and take the time to learn about accepted and unaccepted items, keeping our community clean and safe.”

The 2026 Spring Clean-Up Collection Dates will run alongside regular garbage collection, but residents are advised to take note of the irregular days in North Delta due to the Easter long weekend:

  • Tsawwassen: Monday, March 30
  • Ladner: Tuesday, March 31
  • North Delta: Thursday, April 9 (for homes with regular Wednesday garbage collection)
  • North Delta: Friday, April 10 (for homes with regular Thursday garbage collection)

All households that receive curbside garbage collection from the City of Delta are eligible to participate and may place a maximum of one pick-up truck sized load of items at their curb no earlier than the weekend before your collection day. Residents are asked to review the list of unaccepted items and ensure they only place accepted items for pick up. City Bylaw Officers will be monitoring to ensure illegal dumping doesn’t take place.

Residents are also encouraged to recycle and donate their items when possible, including ensuring items in good working condition are visible for others to pick up. For many items not accepted during Spring Clean-Up, the Large Item Pick-Up and Free Mattress Recycling Voucher programs are available year-round as alternatives.
