News Release: City of Delta Launches New Behind-the-Scenes Podcast

The City of Delta is thrilled to announce the launch of its new podcast—The Bulrush.

This exciting new initiative from the City provides in-depth, behind-the-scenes access to the inner workings of local government, with emphasis on a variety of upcoming projects currently under development.

“The Bulrush brings the public a brand-new perspective on how the City of Delta provides services to residents,” said Deanie Wong, Director of Communications & Engagement. “By hearing directly from Delta staff, listeners will gain unprecedented access to the day-to-day work that goes into running the City and increase their knowledge about the community they call home.”

Entitled “Pipes, Parks, and Pumper Trucks,“ the first episode of The Bulrush dives headfirst into the process of developing a municipal budget, while highlighting some of the major projects and improvements funded in Budget 2025. The episode examines expansions to the City’s water and sewer utilities, trucks and equipment needs for Delta Fire and Emergency Services, the creation of inclusive play spaces in Delta’s parks and playgrounds, and much more.

The podcast will include guest appearances from some of Delta‘s knowledgeable and engaging staff, with the first episode featuring General Manager of Finance Navin Chand, Fire Chief Guy McKintuck, Manager of Utilities Queenie Wong, and Parks Planner Danielle Rancourt.

The Bulrush is set to release new episodes—approximately 25-30 minutes in length—on a quarterly release schedule and is available wherever you get your podcasts.
