The City of Delta is proud to announce the appointment of Dave Wood as the new Chief of Delta Fire & Emergency Services.
Chief Wood has dedicated more than 25 years of service to the people of Delta, holding many leadership roles throughout his time with Delta Fire. Most recently, he has held the role of Acting Fire Chief since the retirement of former chief Guy McKintuck earlier this year.
"As a skilled firefighter and community-minded leader, Chief Wood is committed to investing in a highly trained, diverse, and efficient force that serves Delta to the highest standard," said Peter Weeber, Delta's City Manager. "I look forward to working closely with him in this role as we strive to keep our City safe and prepared."
The City also recognizes retired chief Guy McKintuck for his committed leadership and many years of service to the people of Delta.
A formal appointment ceremony for Chief Wood is planned for later this fall.
