The City of Delta is set to kick off the Christmas season with Christmas Tree Lightings in both Ladner and North Delta this November!

Every year, families from across Delta gather to spread the Christmas cheer with hot chocolate, music, games, and the big moment—the lighting of the Christmas Trees in Delta. This year, the City of Delta will be continuing the legacy of the Ladner Business Association’s longstanding Christmas Tree Lighting tradition by flipping the light switch in Ladner Village on Thursday, November 26. The annual North Delta Christmas Tree lighting will take place on Saturday, November 28, at North Delta Recreation Centre, with the main tree located outside the North Delta Centre for the Arts. Both events are free to attend and run from 5:00 – 8:00 pm.

“Our Christmas traditions run deep in Delta,” said Mayor Melissa Granum. “Our tree lightings bring us together to celebrate the season, support local businesses, and share in the sense of community that makes this time of year so meaningful. Some of the best holiday memories are made close to home, surrounded by friends and neighbours. I’m excited to join everyone in Ladner and North Delta and enjoy a hot chocolate and festive treats along the way.”

Each event will include unique elements to match their seasonal venues. In Ladner Village, participants will be invited to bask in the small-town charm, enjoying food and treats from local businesses during or after the event. Meanwhile, in North Delta, attendees will be able to enjoy the dinner and snack menu in the Jingle Bell Bites food area, glide around the rink at North Delta Recreation Centre during a public skate, and for the price of only $5, take in a classic holiday film at the North Delta Centre for the Arts (the movie ticket includes popcorn).

While there are returning features for both events in 2026—like seasonal crafts, cookie decorating, all-ages entertainment, Christmas letter writing—this year’s events are also set to include photos with Santa and artisan markets with local vendors to help you find the perfect holiday gift or stocking stuffer.
