Before You Apply

Election Worker Requirements

All election workers must:

  • be legally entitled to work in Canada;
  • be 18 years of age or older;
  • successfully complete specific training session in September 2026;
  • have excellent English literacy and language skills (other language(s) an asset);
  • successfully complete a Police Information Check;*
  • not be related to any candidate running for office in the 2026 General Local and School Elections in Delta, not be actively working for any candidate or election campaign, and not become a candidate, candidate representative (scrutineer), or financial agent; 
  • be non-partisan and agree to maintain a non-partisan stance on the election, candidates and related activity while working the election; this includes but is not limited to digital presence (i.e., online and social media); and
  • be available to work from 7:00 am until the end of voting (approximately 9:00 pm), and completion of clean-up of the voting location and delivery of materials to Delta Elections headquarters on advance voting opportunity days and General Voting Day.

*Police Information Checks are required for Presiding Election Official and Alternate Presiding Election Official roles.
