It pollutes our ravines and green spaces, and pulls crews and resources away from other services. The City clears hundreds of sites every year, some containing hazardous waste like drywall and other building materials, which can require specialized handling and disposal.

Report Dumping

Dumping is most common along rural roads and ravines. Crews and bylaw staff monitor known problem areas and investigate all reports.
Waste Disposal in Delta
Beyond regular solid waste collection, the City of Delta offers a variety of disposal options that make it easy to get rid of waste conveniently and legally.
Large Item Pick-Up
Free curbside pickup for up to four large household items per year, including furniture, mattresses, box springs, and appliances.
Mattress Vouchers
Vouchers allowing free recycling of two mattresses at the Vancouver Landfill; one voucher per household, per year.
Extra Garbage Stickers
Garbage in excess of the weekly limit is collected if each can or bag is accompanied by a garbage sticker, which can be purchased for $7.50 for a sheet of six.
Vancouver Landfill
Located at 5400 72 Street in Delta, where waste can be disposed of for a fee and many items can be recycled for free.
